Can someone help a noob out (punkbuster related)?

Some of you might know me, some might not. Anyways i played on the stock server a lot from April-May until September or so under the name RON MEXICO. I came back briefly a few months ago but stopped again because I kept on getting kicked for having an out of date punkbuster and got sidetracked by left 4 dead and other games.

now while waiting for Left 4 Dead updates and hearing about Modern warfare 2 coming out I tried playing again tonight and STILL got kicked for punkbuster after 5 or so minutes. I downloaded the files from
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php
and tried again and almost instantly got kicked with the newly downloaded files in the punkbuster folder.

I know this is probably like helping grandma turn on a computer but can someone help me get this working (i don't wanna say walk me through but it might almost wind up being like that lol)? I'm not sure what I did wrong; saved the files and then copied them over to the punk buster folder in the game directory. Keep in mind outside of some hardware knowledge I'm a complete computer noob so this might be super obvious for which i apologize.

Thanks! Hopefully I can play again soon for more than 5 minutes... 8)

I have to use pbsetup to update too. i screwed my files up a while back and Chaos, with all his infinite wisdom, couldn't figure out how to fix it Lol, just kidding Chaos!

Thanks, I'll try that link. if that still doesn't work I'll try re-installing and hope it updates automatically.

I updated it with that link above. hopefully it works, I guess the only way we can find out is by playing. No guarantees but I'll try to get on tonight, if not tomorrow night or Monday.

got a chance to play tonight. played for about an hour and worked perfectly with no crashes or anything! Thanks a lot.
