I'm sure that Mrs WAYSA would appreciate Wreck and Venom sitting at a table with a box of Trojans, a bottle of crown, and a case of 40's while they try to nail my mom.
Now this I like!!!! A definite keeper for the memorable quotes bin!!!!
And Wrecks reply: Hell Waysa if your Mom's hot I will tap that!!!!
7.62 mm FMJ The ultimate problem solver!

power steering, and transmission fixed! Front crank seal is puking, and front/rear output seals on t-case are bad too.

My mom's 65 and in a wheelchair, which is exactly why Wreck would be trying, that dirty bastard.

Replaced the oil pan(w/ gasket), got a front drive shaft, got front drive shaft shortened to fit, put the rear shocks back on it(sort of). Now it looks like though that the oil leak may be coming from the timing chain cover. Also the power steering pump decided to say fuck it and needs to be replaced, after already replacing all of the lines.
So all I need to do now to get it out in the mud is get a new power steering pump, new timing chain cover gasket(I'll probably get a new cover as well), find out why the brakes are so stiff, and new seals on the front and rear output for the t-case.
But I did get some longtubes on it today. It took lots of swearing, grinding, and smashing, but they finally went on.
The engine needs a rebuild, and it's running on old gas, but it makes me feel better even if it's just a polished turd.

Not related to the Jimmy, but I did get some baller shocks for my Silverado.

You make a good point, why would anyone use a bungee cord to temporarily keep the plug wires off of the headers? It's a much better idea to search for parts and brackets that may not exist for a particular application, and then wait for them to be delivered. Because who would want to start an engine immediately after modifying the exhaust?
Waysa's boyfriend - Do you wanna start it up and see what it sounds like?
Waysa - Nope, that's gay, let's just go drink fancy coffee and have buttsex

Waysa, don't hate on bungee cords... They're just as great as duct tape and ty-wraps

So I was on my way back from a beer run when the truck started to lose power, and I had to push the pedal to the floor in order to keep it above 30ish mph. Then there was a loud bang, and coolant started puking out of the reservoir. I overheated the engine, not entirely surprising since the trans wouldn't shift out of first, and it was low on coolant, and the cooling system was full of rust. So basically, 1st gear at 40-50mph, low coolant, and plugged up cooling system=bad.
Luckily I live downhill so I threw it into neutral and coasted home. I let it cool down, flushed out the cooling system, replaced the thermostat, and cranked it up. Then it started making a little bit of a racket, and here's why.
I was going to replace the head gaskets anyways, and while I was at it I'd figure I'd replace the timing cover and gasket since it was leaking. The problem with that was that one of the previous owners replaced the timing chain and gears. That's great and all, but when they pressed on the new crank gear, they didn't line the timing marks up with the cam gear. So I had to find TDC, and since I was replacing the head gasket anyways, I just found TDC the simple way. Then the can of worms got opened up. There was a huge buildup of carbon in the valley, and the pistons weren't black. I don't know how long this thing has been running with blown headgaskets, but it looks like it's been a while.
After seeing how bad the top end was, and oil slipping past the rings, I had a feeling the bottom end of the engine was probably in just as bad a shape. Which meant pulling the engine, and random thunderstorms showing up while I was at it.
After pulling the engine, and getting coolant everywhere, I pulled off the oil pan and found this. Nothing like metal and oil mixed together to give you that warm and fuzzy feeling.
I pulled pistons 1 and 2. The rod bearings were destroyed, the skirts were torn up, and worse than that, the crank was destroyed with it.
But in the end I found out why it was making all that noise. A valve was stuck open and hitting the top of the piston. My guess is a bent rod.
