What ruined BF2 for me was the HUGE number of HAX and bugs that were never resolved/blocked.
The game itself was really good if you had a mature team & commander (and good pilots)
Hope they fixed some stuff... It looks nice from the video.

BC2: PC Beta in December

Many people asking about the BFBC2 Beta. I have included the November 5th EA news release below. Anyone find it coincidental that the beta will be available for both PS3 and PC players first? Just so happens they were the folks most upset with IW's treatment during MW2's release

ps3 and pc get demo this yr while xbox has to wait til next yr lol
new game for us to try out see how its going to be.

Found an update to bc2 seems the pc verson is delayed for few weeks ( for optimizations? and more people?) it also list few specs which Mark will be happy about dx10 and dx11 support.
With the huge success of the PS3 Beta we decided to drastically increase the PC Beta's capacity to insure as many people as possible could participate. Unfortunately this meant we had to delay the Beta to very early next year giving us more planning time to make it happen and implement more optimizations.
Full DirectX 9, 10 & 11 Support - Immerse yourself in the Battlefield world as Frostbite engine brings tanks, helicopters and explosions to vivid life on your PC

BFBC2 is looking bleek as a MW and MW2 killer:
2. It appears that DICE has a narrow definition of what a dedicated server is.
EA will not be distributing dedicated server software to the general public. Meaning that the only dedicated servers will be officially sanctioned ones...and if past practice is any indication...they are quite pricey...$1500/yr is a dollar figure I have heard bandied about.
I think this translate like to something like $3-$4 a slot which is about $125(XP figured this part out) bucks a month for a 32 slot.
The Battlefield Blog states: "There are many factors for why we have decided this with the biggest factor being security and integrity of our game & Dedicated Servers."
3. DICE producer Gordon Van Dyke said there would probably not be any mod tools available day one of release. Part of this was due to the fact that BFBC2 is using the new Frostbite engine and creating ModTools was a bit beyond their reach at the moment.
News from DICE this past week has made it official. No mod tools
- What does this mean? No Custom maps?
- How is this different than past BF games?
4. According to DICE dev Johan Anderson, who tweeted the words “No Console a few days ago in response to a pointed question, Bad Company 2 will apparently not have a means to direct input client-side commands into the game. Basically, this would have been similar to the ~ command in CoD.
EA stated this on their official forums "We have not removed a console from BC2. The simple reason is that BC1 and BC2 never have had an in-game console. Which also means that the game won't be possible to hack in this regard.
All is not lost, they have over a month and a half to hopefully right these wrongs.

looks like 2 down and none to go.

#1 all BF games have not had server software available for public like cod they have always controlled this so nothing has really changed.
#2 prices very as to who they let run the servers as of right now they havent released which server companies will run there game.
#3 Reason there will not be mod tools from day 1 is this is new game engine and i dont think they have even started on what they are goin to release to us as tools go.
#4 console.. which was never included in there other games so sayin they removed it is funny.
I have talked to many others lately who run or still run BF servers and so far nothing has changed in there eyes from what they had before. They all said they get 4 program tools with there server to control there servers to which cod never supplied any I only see 3rd party software like rcon were they have built in software.
I read all this info posted on bashandslash and listened to there show which all this was explained by a bunch of BF crew. The thing that changes the most for BF BC2 from all other BF games is the use of new game engine. So I havent really seen anything bad about this yet. If you want you can listen for yourself heres a link. http://bashandslash.com/index.php?optio … &Itemid=69

and currently, it's all speculation at this point. no official announcements from ea/dice atm. No official server prices yet, and the whole "no public dedi files" is gonna be the same as ranked servers in bf2
I'm with you cool on this one

I think I might have to purchase BFBC so I can at least get used to the game play before this one comes out.

lol, dog, the first bc was only console. u got a 360 or a ps3?
I've got both. I'll buy it and let u know
Offline
I have it on the 360, its a great game no doubt. The only gripe i have about it is that people will not die. Seriously, you can light someone up with an assault rifle from 5 feet away, and you will end up dying 5 seconds later. Sometimes it gets ridiculous
