Unfortunately, my PC gaming experience came pretty late. I started playing FPS around the time the World at War beta was out for the PC, got a new video card (had an 8400GS at the time), upgraded to a 9800GT and that came with a free copy of COD4, started playing COD4 and found ESAW . Before then, I occasionally played True Combat: Elite (a Wolf:ET mod).
Before then, I was a HUGE Rainbow Six fan, and owned every version on both XBOX and XBOX360. Lockdown was by far the worst version of Rainbow . I miss the early days of Rainbow Six 3 and Black Arrow

I played tons of Quake II .... used to rock that game on two monster voodoo 2 8 meg vid cards in sli. I'm sure you can still find them some where in a museum .... lol. Mainly played Instagib and rocket arena.
Damn good gaming days those were!

Threewave, RA, Instagib. Then it was strictly OSP for Q3 playing instagib competitively. Went back to all weaps for Q4 and competed playing duel. I seriously miss Quake. The movement was unbelievable once you got good. Crouch sliding, circle jumps, strafe jumping. That was a game where you HAD to be skilled to play on a high level. There was a lot more to it than just choose a rail or rocket and start pwning. You had to be able to move too and that was a lot harder to learn to do well than shooting a weapon with a shit load of splash damage at someones feet.
I really miss QuakeCon trips to Texas.

The only Quake game I've got is ET:QW. I played Q4 for about a week on the 360, but never really put much thought into getting it...

Keep smoking the ganja Killsaw. Quake 3 sucks. I hate to burst your THC enhanced bubble but the Sims is actually the most played game of all time, followed by Sims 2, and then World of GayCraft.
And seeing how you might possibly be referring to shooters I looked that up too and Counterstrike is the most played first person shooter of all time. And as far as my wife beating me she doesn't need any more encouragement.
One of the big things Quake had that COD doesn't is 1 on 1 support. COD really needs arena style game modes. Arenas were not built for camping. So I could drag you out of the corners and put the hurt on your ass.

Sims and WOW? Is this fuckin guy serious?
rofl.........if you plan to pull killsaw outta a corner and put a hurt on him, you'll need to do a couple things first.
#1 Get good enough to back your talk. Right now...that won't happen.
#2 Actually find him camping. Again, won't happen.
As for Q3 sucking....that game only sucked if you couldn't play for shit. From the other end of the spectrum, my opinion. Q3 was possibly the best FPS game ever made. The Quake series in general is the best series ever made.....but then, I'm really fuckin good at Quake so of course I'd think that.
I gotta go twist one up now & climb all up in my "THC enhanced bubble." Then I'll come find you and kick your ass for a while all stoned and possibly half drunk. Kinda funny huh?
You think COD sucks too? Just curious.

I tend to believe that Rainbow Six was the best ever series, but then again, it's all opinionated. They both were on the complete end of the FPS spectrum of each other. One was an all out DM (correct me if I'm wrong), and the other was a tactical shooter, that took skill to be good at. You had to know how to tap and single shot your gun, none of this spray and pray that today's gamers love. That would get you no where. I would love to have a new tactical shooter, similar to the Rainbow series back in the day... I would be in heaven
