I saw a fucking trench... That aside, how the hell can they give us the shit ton of unlocks and upgrades when there was FAR fewer weapon choices back then? Great I'll have a 1911 and just run around with that I suppose. I didn't think the weapons in WW1 were really known for accuracy. So back to bayonets and trenches.... I'm torn on this one....

I would like to update my previous statements regarding BF 1. The coolest part of the trailer was 7 Nation Army, not killing someone with an e-tool. Also I want to see more than the 3 seconds of gameplay in the trailer before making a conclusion about the game (although trenches will suck, and this is the same company that keeps releasing Metro).

As a vehicle whore, I just can't picture myself on a horse all the damn time because going 5mph in a Tank aint' gonna cut it. I'm assuming that the Blimps are going to be like Titan or, more recently, Carrier Assault mode. How's the medic reviving people? With photo-voltiac jars filled with pickle juice and wires?! Maybe they can break an ammonia capsule under your nose and "revive" you. Support makes sense I've no squabbles there [CHECK]. Snipers existed and had scopes [CHECK]. Assault has automatic weapons and bayonets and pineapple grenades[CHECK]. Engineers should be viable, semi-auto shotguns definitely existed then and gimme back my 'ol wrench [CHECK]. There's hints of there being Arty in this one as well. So I guess I'm still waiting to hear about Recon, Medics, Heavies (AT) and all the supposed specialized vehicle classes... Lemme upgrade ma horse with some blinders so it doesn't freak out.....
How will game radar work? I know there was a rudimentary radar system in game in BF 1942. Honestly I played without it for so long on hard core it won't count as a negative.
Will they have the .50 cal Browning M2 in the game? I can get with that, it was made in 1918 and all, maybe as stationary turrets. If this game is set right at the ending of WWI there are quite a few more weapons that began their existence then that are still used today.
I just can't shake off the dread of most rounds ending up in all out trenches.... Maybe if they don't have trenches near objectives?
I'm warming up to the idea, because Battlefield, but I NEED MOAR INFO!

Dice news release with QA from Jack Frags. The game will be rooted in history they say, no fantasy stuff mixed in. Bad news keeps rolling in.

For the horsebags, why else would you put them in?

I think you mean saddle bags but still, why are horse in an fps game? And this bayonet charge ability, why does it need to exist? If you want fps melee their are games for that already, Chivalry, The Culling, Black Wake, etc...
Battlefield hasn't had a heavy melee focus for the past 14 years until now and for some reason it's just sad that no one is questioning why their is such a heavy focus on it. It seems like everyone's reasoning is based off of "look how shiney and cool that trailer is, there's is no way that could suck."
But I know what you're thinking.
"Hey, this mother fucker has an opinion that doesn't make the trailer look cool. He's such an asshole for having said opinion, he's not excited about hopping out of a trench in front of a static machine gun or driving a tank that does 5 mph."
How dare he not agree with Dice, he's a fucking Nazi.
Just give me something, tell me the next game won't be just jumping out of trench with a bayonet or riding in a Zepplin.
The worst thing is that hundreds of thousands of people will and probably have already pre-ordered the game (Smith) simply because the trailer was pretty. And because they've done that, their is no longer any incentive for EA/Dice to make the game actually enjoyable.
Which is also fine because I understand this is a profit based industry but it will only encourage this kind of development in the future. The devs are so vain that their whole train of thought is based off of "We made this game just to be fucking different from COD space ninjas, now we just need to make shit look pretty so people will buy it and once we have enough pre-orders before release we can completely dump the shit because guess what, we already have their fucking money and invested in another project so even if no one fucking buys it, we've already made a wind fall profit..
But hey, it's you're right to not think about shit before you do it. It's not like other people will have to suffer for you're shitty decisions.
I mean god forbid a company base their next game release/development off of previous pre-order sales because hundreds of thousands of people thought the pre-alpha trailer was cool..
If you don't like the new setting/trailer than you're retarded.
Yes, I'm fine with it as well. I'm a Nazi because I don't buy into the hype. One minute and 19 seconds of a pre-alpha trailer isn't enough to convince me 100% that it will be a great game.
WOO! THIS SHIT IS DIFFERENT FROM COD SPACE NINJAS. - Everyone's reasoning for pre-ordering.

Nothing wrong with taking the trailer with a grain of salt. It is what it is, a great trailer. The game could be total shit. If I remember correctly everyone I know that bought BF 4 bought it early, and some play it to this day. Most of us knew what Hardline and Battlefront were before they released, low content games to fill the gap between the major battlefield titles. This one could be as bad as 4 at launch or worse, but I will assume for now that this will have the same type of content albeit with a smaller quantity of weapons. I'm excited to see some game footage, weapons lists, vehicles and characters/classes in the weeks and months to come. If it turns out to be a bust, then we'll all be waiting a long time for a decent shooter to come out again, so keep all fingers crossed!

I woulda been happier with 2143 honestly. But I can see how the genre has been saturated with futuristic crap for a while now. I'm not getting the deluxe version period, but I'm interested in the game. I haven't found any info if they are doing the premium bullshit this time around though....
