Hey Money! Yeah it's been awhile. I need to get some time for me.

Prison in Canada is horrible.  Only serve you light beer and Ontario wine.

I am reading up on some older posts to see what I've been missing.

More recent P4 Prescott does using EM64T.  I have this one sitting idly in my basement.

Maybe faulty ram or doesn't like the new ram combined with old if you did it this way.  How are the ram sizes and number of sticks?  Start by using 1 and then replace.

Also make sure video card driver is the right one.

Did you install 32 bit or 64bit?  I believe those P4's support both but would probably go with 32 bit.

#7 Re: General Info » PROBLEM » Wed, Nov 09, 2011 10:51 pm

Mine is a AO522 model.  You may have a recovery partition if the original hard drive is still on the netbook and you can go into recovery to re-instate the original OS and configuration.  The recovery should be an option in the bios setting and/or during boot up.

#8 Re: General Info » PROBLEM » Wed, Nov 09, 2011 8:52 pm

What model is it?  I have an Acer netbook and doesn't like to boot from USB flash disk so I had to install Win 7 from a USB CD/DVD drive.

CutePDF or similar will be added to as a printer and you can print to PDF.

You should be able to copy and past an excel spreadsheet directly into Word.

If you use Rich Text Format for your email, it should take your Word docs into email.

Hard to get anything higher than 1Mbps Upload up north.  Downloads are fine though.

should have waited for the Motorola bionic. Dual core 4g and Honeycomb upgrade should be available shortly after the release. I am impressed with Motorola these days, I hated them back in the day but now they seem to be coming around. Currently I am hanging on to the old Droid X until the Bionic drops (Hopefully real soon!). My Xoom with Honeycomb is my new best friend, just wish work would come out of the dark ages and let us get our email on it!

Also Crasher is 100% right on the Nexus One, it was made by HTC not Samsung.

Are you on exchange or notes?  If you are on exchange and have owa, you may be able to use the owa url to connect and authenticate. That is how I do it except I need additional authentication via Sonicwall ssl vpn.

Yes, and they will merge with the Ice Cream Sandwich release.

I am running Honeycomb 3.1 on my Asus Transformer Tablet and it's sweet as...well ya, honey.

Dog, since you're running with Verizon, look into either the HTC Thunderbolt (similar to the HTC EVO from Sprint, includes 4G LTE support), or if VZW has some dual core android phones, look into them. 4G is the future, and they're working on rolling out into new neighborhoods all the time, so you don't want to get a new phone that's gonna be seriously obsolete within a few months, if not weeks.

I wouldn't even touch a Samsung Galaxy with a 10' pole.  There's some Galaxy's :cough: ATT :cough: that are still running with the 2.1 OS.  The EVO came out with the 2.2 FW I think within a month or so after releasing their handset, and from what I've read, should be getting the gingerbread release sometime in June or July.

If Gingerbread is a big concern, go with the Nexus S.  It's still a Samsung phone, but it's the one that's backed by Google as their own release.  Remember, Google released the original Nexus over a year ago I think with their own hardware, but it wasn't a success...  They should have went with HTC on their newer one though hmm

PS, the Moto Atrix is an ATT handset.  Oh and BTW, I LOVE my Android Phone smile (HTC EVO)

Nexus One was made by HTC.  Galaxy comes in 3 variants...ATT's captivate is a crippled version but Galaxy is running on Honeycomb now (2.3) and is almost identical to Nexus S as both are Samsung.

Most females prefer iphones and blackberries by the way.  Screen is hard to type for them if they have medium to long nails so Blackberry wins.

#23 Re: General Info » My wife wants a new phone... » Tue, May 24, 2011 11:58 pm

Although I like droid, for your wife, I think iphone is a better choice.  If you do go droid, there are many handsets to choose from.  I think the Samsung Galaxy S is a good choice and make sure you get a Gingerbread version (or can be upgraded to Gingerbread) and not Froyo.

If you wait, the dual core phones will be out soon including the iphone 5.   Motorola Atrix is droid dual core but the reviews have been less than stellar on this unit.

#24 Re: Our Servers » True Run and Gun server » Mon, May 16, 2011 7:03 pm

I'd like to see the removal of rapid fire and lightweight.  Maybe slight of hand and marathan as well.

I find players just getting around the map too quickly and the submachine guns are too powerful with the rapid fire esp ak47u.

Just my thoughts but hey, I'd be in as well with what Waysa is suggesting.
